Holden has taken to carrying this note in one of his coat pockets.]
DEAR BEAT
If you're reading this I must be dead and so you know the truth about me now. I really hated being so phony with you and everyone else but it was the only thing I could do. And you don't have to believe that it was right to do what we did but at least believe that part of why I was being friendly with you even with the game is because it didn't seem like you would have to be a target and better to be pals with living prey than at each other's throats. I did think you were a swell guy, that was the least phony part. I hope you make it out of this game. If you do please try to find out if Phoebe Caulfield is okay. She might not be. That was part of why I needed to win. Otherwise, take good care of Rhyme since that's the next best thing.
HOLDEN
[Holden's notebook has been kept in one of his larger coat pockets. Several pages are missing - they must have been ripped out. Among the few pages left in there that have been written on are the theory he and Touko made up about the gunman operating every third day (at the top is scrawled NO FORGET THIS) and a list of the country people. He has also noted that there are "EIGHT RABBITS IN SAYAKA VIDEO PRAYER CIRCLE", which he thinks corresponds to the eight special prey roles. He has a list where he's trying to figure these out--]

Her general impressions are as follows:

Madoka—
If you're reading this, I guess it's pretty obvious what happened. I'm sorry for dumping everything on you like this, but I bet you'll be a super awesome magical girl, even on your own. You'll just have to protect Mitakihara twice as well now. If you explain to Kyuubey what happened, he'll probably be able to help you out somehow... and if he doesn't, I'll totally haunt him for it.
Remember what we talked about, and make sure you get out of here safe, okay? I'll be really mad if you don't look after yourself! (I guess you'll have to find another husband now, though. So long as they're worthy of you, then I'm okay with it. Make sure you don't settle for anything less.)
You're my best friend, so if you can get through this, I don't have any regrets. I'm glad I could protect you, even if it was only for a while.
Journal, two letters filtered to relevant people and gamehead!
-- Her journal. Entirely written in Japanese. It's pretty mundane -- at first she was using it to chronicle how she spent her time and what she saw here, and after Day Four it takes a turn for the weird. A lot of rambling about "morphogenetic ability;" something called Free the Soul; her continuous failing attempts to contact her brother, Aoi; and her theory discussed earlier with Holden. Some of the pages have wet spots, like she was crying when she wrote them -- notably a page where she discusses her knowledge of her imminent death, and her reflections on her private conversation with Holden. She's frustratingly vague on the latter, as if she herself couldn't decide what to make of it. She does make one thing clear: Whatever happened during that conversation made her quite uneasy about the boy, although not suspicious enough to vote for him.
The last note is the names of those who voted for her at Day 6's trial, with question marks by them. She didn't come to any fruitful conclusions about why they voted for her before she died, although she seemed most suspicious of the two nations.
If you peruse the slice of life section, you can tell she's most attached to Holden here, even in light of her last notes on him.
-- A private letter to Kirigiri Kyoko. In Japanese.
-- A private letter to Holden Caulfield. In English.
-- Her voodoo doll, June, wrapped in a single piece of paper that bears (in English) an address within Japan and a note: "Somebody please send this back to my friend." There's another message on here that's been heavily blocked out, like after writing it she thought better than to include it.

There aren't many specific notes to follow. Most of the pages in her journal are taken up with pictures. A few are of the areas around town, some of the various plaques and the names of the revealed roles beneath them, but most are of the different people around town. Some are already colored in and finalized like the picture she drew of Tony Stark when they met in the park while others are from events that had occurred around town or during the trials that she remembered.

+ the first is addressed to Ciel and recounts what she once told her - that she had been her first friend in Prayer's Pass and that she had truly meant what she said then. It tells her in what seems to be a playfully harsh tone to do her best to win and stay alive. She then goes on to mention the last letter she wrote - telling Ciel that she did indeed leave behind the last wish that she spoke with her about, so that all the remaining players might get to read it. It finishes with an apology, and then with thanks; expressing that she was glad to have met her.
+ the second is addressed to Holden. It thanks him for the time he spent helping her prepare memorials and asks him to - if it's not too silly - offer a prayer for her brother Oz in her place if she should die before him. At the end she adds that if he finishes the book he's reading, he should tell her about it.
+ the third is addressed to Kyouko, and appears to be some manner of formal confession - the one she offered at the trial. It details the task she was given and the plan - which she offers, "it wasn't my plan, it was England's plan, but I accepted it nonetheless." She goes over the few encounters she made and her numerous layers of lies - which she calls "a foolish act of desperation". Included also is an apology as well for lying to her and the rest of the prey - stating that she had no choice. She also accounts the manner in which she was the one who stole a gun belonging to Kyouko and her intention to use it to, as a last effort, take down one last obstacle.
+ the last is odd, with no particular recipient listed and is written open endedly. It is her last attempt to articulate her feelings to all the remaining players. To the best of her ability she attempts to communicate a fondness for everyone she's met and describes a desire for everyone to find some way to be strong and survive. She expresses a desire to see them all happy somehow, even though she knows it's stupid and probably impossible. But as she claims, it is her final wish and if nothing else... she wanted them to know that regardless of all of her actions - she had been rooting for everyone as a whole all along, no matter what their role was.
"We are not defined by our roles but by something much, much greater."
She expresses that she's glad to have met every one of the players, regardless of role or circumstances - that she met so many great people she wouldn't have otherwise. It mentions a few: Charles, whom she found to be gloomy, but nice, America, Tony Stark, Makoto Naegi, and Steve Rogers whom all she admired for different reasons. But after she speaks of those few, she finishes that she would mention everyone if she could, but that it would take too much time.
"You are all very unique and wonderful, and you all deserve to be saved. It just... was chosen that I couldn't do that. No matter how much I wanted to."
She tells them not to give up and to keep fighting for what each of them believes in. And then with a final apology she finishes it -
"Goodbye."
And at the bottom, signs her name one last time - Ada Vessalius
message to the hunters
1) Our priority needs to be on finding the watcher. Without them, the prey will be forced to vote blindly or based on conjecture that we may be able to manipulate or control. Before Ema died, she revealed that the watcher investigated three people: the Doctor, Lithuania, and Ciel. Ciel is an obvious choice to investigate, but the Doctor and Lithuania are not, especially as neither of them were acting particularly suspiciously or stood out much during the trials. The person most likely to watch the Doctor early on is Clara Oswald; the person most likely to watch Lithuania is Ukraine. Spain is also a possibility when it comes to Lithuania, but I believe I would have been the first person he investigated, and he never gave any sign of knowing I wasn't a normal prey until yesterday. Ukraine is the bigger threat, as she may watch Prussia soon in order to try and clear the remaining nations. Prussia and I have also discussed killing a nation soon after I die in order to set up the illusion that I was the only one keeping the hunters off of them and there are no more countries among our numbers, so take that as you will.
2) Always keep in mind the number of hunters and prey remaining. We currently have two guns in our possession and will hopefully acquire more. Should the prey ever outnumber us by the number of guns we have, shoot them all in the morning.
3) PREY THAT VOTE REGULARLY: America, Beat (possible that Holden can control his votes), Charles Fei-Ong, Ciel, Gundam Tanaka, Joshua Kiryu, Lithuania, Rikku, Spain, Touko Fukawa (possible that Togami can control her votes), Ukraine
PREY THAT TEND TO ABSTAIN: Aoi Asahina, Bucky Barnes, Clara Oswald, the Doctor, Madoka Kaname, Mondo Oowada, Peggy Carter, Sanae Hanekoma, Sayaka Maizono, Steve Rogers
If there's no clear threat or target for the night, always kill someone from the first list. The less willing the town is to vote for people who aren't clearly guilty, the better.
4) Don't risk a night trying to kill America. Once I'm gone, the chances of him protecting only himself are extremely high, as his priority will be to get out of here alive and back to his people, not to mention he'll undoubtedly be furious at the town for a while for executing me. We can't afford a night with no prey deaths.
5) Elliot Nightray's role is still a mystery. Try to find out what it is and who holds it.
6) The longer Kirigiri stays alive, the more likely it will be that the town will start to suspect that at least one of the Hope's Peak students is a hunter and protecting her. In that case, see if you can push them towards Mondo or Aoi, but don't make yourselves look suspicious doing so.
7) Sharon and Kirigiri are our biggest assets as both a power role and the two people who will be least likely suspected by the town. Keep them alive.
Good luck. Remember the stakes we're playing for. Do whatever it takes to win.
last note to america
America,
When I first found out about this game and the role I'd be playing in it, I stayed up all night writing a detailed letter to you explaining all of my motivations and everything I wanted you to know once I was gone. It was nineteen pages long and a veritable work of literature. Shakespeare would have wept. You probably would have stopped reading halfway through and demanded a film version with more explosions.
Last night, I burned it.
The thing is...no matter how beautifully composed, last letters are essentially all the same, aren't they? They're regrets. All the words we wish we could have said while we were still alive, all the things we could never get past our pride or our emotions or even just the rules of a sadistic game. And after the past few nights...I don't think I have any left. I had the privilege of being able to tell you everything I wanted to face-to-face, and I'm grateful for it. So instead, I'll simply leave you with this:
I love you. And I'm proud of you. Even in our darkest of times, I've never regretted meeting you, not for a second. You've made my days brighter, and I thank you for it.
Watch out for the hunters. They'll be going after you now that I'm not around. Live. Be happy. Don't forget me, but don't be afraid of moving on either. You were never one made to wallow in grief. You're young yet, you still have so many experiences ahead of you; I want you to live them all to the fullest, with nothing holding you back. As long as I know you're at peace, I will be as well.
All my best,
England
PS: If I'm right about us meeting again once this game is over, suffice to say that we will never speak of this again.

If you get this note I'm dead. I want to thank you for being there for me and I wish we could both escape. But I know you'll find a way out. Please look after my people when you get out. I know you'll be strong enough to do the right thing for them, if they're still there. Remember you are stronger then you think.
love,
Ukraine
[There is also a letter written at the end, with an English note above it]
If you find this it means I'm dead. If any of you get out of here and it's at all possible, please deliver this message to my brother and sister. Russia and Belarus. And...tell my people I'm sorry and I love them.
[Russian]
Dear Brother and Sister
I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to come back to you. Don't blame any of the others if they escape. It wasn't their fault. I know we didn't always get along but I am so very happy I was able to be your big sister for as long as I was. I'm proud of the both of you and I know you'll do great things in the future.
Please take care of each other.
Love,
your big sis
[Spoilers for Dangan Ronpa] Makoto Naegi's Journal
To anyone who finds this journal (if I didn't have the time to hand it over to someone),
If you're reading this (though it'd be more proper to say when, huh?), then I've been executed or killed.
Now that that's out of the way, I apologize for what happened. I won't ask you to forgive me, but I really am sorry things turned out this way.
We can't
AbsenceThe lack ofNot evidenceI'm sorry.Everyone, I'm willing to bet absolutely none of you really want to believe anything I have to say at the moment thanks to my role, huh? I wouldn't blame any of you one bit. But I can sincerely say that I never wanted to see anyone dead. Staying stuck in this situation is a fate worse than death for me, so it's probably for the best that I died here. This must have been a sliver of how she felt, huh? Once again, I admire her strength of mind. I could never match it.
Anyway, please don't lose hope and live through this. I believe that everyone can work together and escape this place, so for your own sakes, don't give up no matter how hopeless the situation seems. The best weapon against Critter is trust. Just keep your eyes on the goal and don't forget who your true enemies are. I know you all can do it! When everyone works together, there's nothing you can't accomplish. If you can only believe one thing I say, believe that.
And that's all I can say. Stay safe! Here's hoping you all have actual good luck with no strings attached.
Best regards,
Makoto Naegi
P.S. To anyone who gets out of here, if you ever see my family (I have a mother, father and little sister—though she probably looks like the older sister compared to me), could you please tell them I'm sorry for making them worry so much? I'd tell them myself, but well, you know why I can't if you're reading this. Thank you.
[ There are also other small notes on a page next to the letter. ]
Kirigiri-san, I'm really sorry I ended up wasted the life you and Alter Ego saved.
Maizono-san, I wish I could have helped you more. Here's hoping you can meet up with your friends again!
Togami-kun, stop being so heavy on the tsun already. Ah, maybe I should erase this later...
Asahina-san, it'd have been nice to have a donut party once everything blew over.
Oowada-kun, it's too bad that I couldn't take you up on that motorcycle offer. I can't say I wasn't looking forward to it.
Fukawa-san, maybe I can be a ghost and read your next book whenever it comes out?
Syo, try not to stress Fukawa-san too much?
[ There are a few other messages targeted towards anyone Naegi's talked through during the game, mostly telling them to take care of themselves. Sometimes they get more specific, like the message to Holden saying he's rooting for him to see his little sister again and the message to America thanking him for protecting Fukawa. Unfortunately, there's absolutely nothing else in his journal that isn't already common knowledge. Some pages appear to have been ripped out though, most noticeably after entries labelled Day 6.
Whoops, I lied. There's something else. A picture stuck in the pages. But that's all. ]
no subject
There is only one page left. It says the following, scrawled in Kirigiri's own hand. ]
You're all making a mistake.
[ And that's it. There's nothing else. No long explanations, no personalized notes to the people she cared about, alive or dead- nothing. ]
no subject
The first several pages have been torn out of Lithuania's journal. After that, there's a short note in English:
"If anyone reads this, please don't get so caught up in Critter's wolf and rabbit game that you disregard the things being left around town. I think those are important, and I think we're running out of time to collect them. The murder game isn't the objective, it's a TIME LIMIT. Don't make it so short so recklessly! Everyone who's died seems to be working on this together, wolf, scavenger, and prey, so maybe you could try cooperating alive, too?
In Ukraine's journal there is a letter to her sister and brother, Belarus and Russia. Please deliver it to them if at all possible, thank you.
-Lietuvos Respublika"
Lithuania has written, in meticulous detail, everything that went on in the video. He has transcribed the phone conversation following that. Next are Abigail's various diary entries up through day eleven. Lithuania has noted that Mayu's stuffed rabbit appeared when the supply shop opened, the photo of Mary when the jail opened, Polonia when the church opened, Sayaka's glove when the video appeared, England's poetry in the jail when the phone message showed up, and the gun and emerald when more of Abigail's diary appeared. He has attributed them as follows: Mayu (scavenger-omnivore), James Sunderland (prey), Poland (wolf), Sayaka Miki (scavenger-rabid), England (wolf), and doesn't know who the gun or emerald belong to.
Lithuania has written a few of the common theories in his journal as well: the idea that if the prey wins something bad will happen to anyone left alive, the idea that the wolves aren't necessarily the hunters, that sort of thing. He's also made note of Ada's talking about the wolves' role in the game and how they operate as potentially useful, though he hasn't transcribed them since the tapes are always accessible. Lithuania mentions the lion and feather drawing from early on as well, though he doesn't know why it was there or why it was left, and seems to think it's a little out of place compared to the other clues.
The last page is a list of everyone who has died through day eleven, including those shot on day eleven. Their roles and causes of death aren't listed. Hanekoma and Mayu's names have been crossed out, but Hanekoma was added to the end again. It's more of a tiny memorial page than anything else.

His journal is fairly normal. It starts off mundane and then turns into letters to friends back at home: Portugal, Romano, Veneciano, Belgium, Netherlands, Cuba, etc. Everything is in Spanish except for a few bits in English but they only mention a meeting with the nations and the weather being terrible but picking up on the ninth.
At the very back of the journal is a confession, )
All that had has been needed to be said has already been said and done. Now, there is only what I want to say.
They say in Spain, the dead are more alive than anywhere else in the world. I have been all over the world and have seen the same strength in every place. So I know everything will be okay. As long as we are alive, we can see each other again.
Have faith,
