graveyard part 4

hunter's game the graveyard

You wake up in an unfamiliar cabin.

At first, it almost seems like you're in an entirely different place and that everything had been just a dream. The interior of the cabin looks nothing like the run-down, old-timey shacks that you had been living in before. Everything in here is sleek and modern, from the enormous flat-screen TV mounted on the wall to the fridge and mini-bars stocked with all your favorite foods. There aren't any individual rooms in here, just a common area large enough to house everyone comfortably, no matter how many more people join you...and there will be plenty more people joining you before the week is over.

Because if you look outside the window, it quickly becomes clear that not only are you still in Prayer's Pass, but that you are no longer among the realm of the living. Judging from the tombstones directly outside, you're now in what had been the abandoned broken-down cabin in the graveyard. The cabin's not all that changed; the world outside has gone completely grey and everything you see appears to be faded and blurry. The only things that remain sharp and in color are what's inside the cabin, including your fellow ghosts. Occasionally, people who are still alive may enter, but it's clear that what they're seeing is completely different from what you're seeing. The door's unlocked; however, a mysterious force prevents you from stepping beyond the threshold, no matter how hard you may try. After all, this cabin is a cage for the dead - a gilded one, perhaps, but a cage nonetheless.

On the flat-screen TV plays everything that is currently happening in the town. It will shut off once night starts...and something else will appear instead.

[thank you for being such a good sport ciel...]

Of course I did. [and he regretted it BUT WHATEVER #YOLUYGTOI] At any rate, if we had only been able to take out one hunter yesterday I would be even more upset. Cake can certainly wait if it allowed us to get another kill in.

Haha, I was right that we should've shot Holden before the trial started, but Lithuania had the gun, alas. Critter didn't let him come here because he cheated, I'm sure you'll be as upset to know this as Joshua was. As a bonus though, at least the other nations kicking up a fuss about him allowed the ghosts to give the living more clues about this town during last night. This should end soon either way, your efforts won't be in vain.

[gonna keep fussing over him by straightening his collar and pulling strands of his hair back... sure he's not sickly anymore, but he didn't wake up here in pristine shape, right?]

I wish I had listened. Prussia would have been much easier to take to trial, but I wanted so badly to kill four of them that day. [sighs and places his hand over his face... and then he'll bat her hands away if she fusses too much because he had enough of that to last him a lifetime yesterday morning!!]

As long as those dunderheads don't ruin the instructions and planning I've kept, things should be over in two days regardless of the amount of clues sent.

[personal profile] expiatrice 2013-06-07 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not your fault, the crux of the problem lays within the fact that we allowed Lithuania to keep the gun. I think two days should be enough anyway, it's not like making every piece available will guarantee the solving of the whole puzzle.

[Chuckling fondly as she pulls away, finally giving him some space.]

Some prey seem inclined to want to look further into the mystery, but majority vote will still rule. We need at least three votes, I'd estimate, and we should get them. Besides, today's video made it obvious that there are still two wolves left: if prey really want to buy time, they should at least kill one and save the last once they think they've gotten enough clues.

...

That or they can lynch one of their own while more of them die, it's a reality that'll catch up with them sooner or later.

I even tried to ensure he would use it on Mayu before the trial. [SHAKING HIS HEAD lithuania no...]

If they actually start lynching their own to buy the wolves more time, I really won't help another human again in my life. I can swear on that much, if nothing else.

I'll make sure you won't have to.

[...wait ciel what does that even MEAN--]

Turn around, Charles.

[what does that mean....

but he will turn around as asked?! looking very wary ciel what are you plotting]

[she'll lean up a bit from her sitting position

(while making absolutely sure to not upset him!! babby bats are delicate creatures to have in one's lap, after all)

and peck his brow with a warm and affectionate kiss.

Won't pull away as she continues to murmur softly in French through closed eyes too, this IS a 100% sincere thing for once, okay!!]

Leaving you behind by yourself is my greatest sin here. It may not be atone-able by apology, but please allow me to be selfish and apologize anyway. ...I'm sorry to have gone on ahead, Charles, More importantly though, I'm really happy to see you well again.

[oh — well that isn't something he had expected to hear. his lips purse and he looks like he wants to be irritated, but really, in the face of such sincerity even he is impressed. and touched

maybe

at least a little... in French, he replies:]

You're still a shithead for doing that to me, but I don't hate you as much as Lithuania or Holden or Sharon or Mayu or any of the other idiots who may have forced me to put this much effort into something for no reason. [aka ALL IS FORGIVEN mamahenbear no worries...]

[She chuckles warmly and brightly, pulling away a little to look at him in the eyes. ...She DID used to be a starry-eyed moeblob once upon a time before all the sadistic and violent tendencies settled in, okay, so she can totally be a brimming beacon of earnestness when the stars are rightfully aligned!!

Continuing in French, no1curry if any nations on the premise can understand--]

I can accept that accusation. I haven't just been baking furiously since I got here either, you know. [it's obvious if he so much as glances towards the kitchen...] I've been thinking of ways I could make it up for you, so how about we start with Holden? He may not have done it intentionally, but he is responsible for shooting Spain, who promised me to stay with you for the rest of the day. Spain and miss Miki hit him yesterday, but he's had a smooth day so far today. What would you like to do? I could arrange for a show, but you can take the lead, too!

[o-oh... u///u

since she can't take him sweets shopping and there's already a shitton of cakes

how about the next best thing

murder posse picking on a poor american teenage boy together? :D :D :D]

[no he can't stand that face don't look at him ciel DON'T LOOK AT HIM... but aw yiss french conversation it is. it's nice to be talking in his second language again, anyway.]

I suppose that would be a decent place to start. He made things quite difficult for me yesterday and left me quite embarrassed after calling out my bluff. ["EMBARRASSED" charles no your definitions for everything are all messed up] Even if Spain and Sayaka got a shot, I'd absolutely like something else today. A show might be nice. This body is quite flimsy in a human state so I wouldn't be able to do much damage myself.

[best reunion ever]

[DON'T WILT AT HER IN THE GRAVEYARD!! but yes this feels good for her too, win-win for everyone.]

You were sickly and feverish but still did your best, plus he outright admitted here that he almost fell for it. Words can't express how proud I am of you, so don't worry about it, okay? [beams pleasantly!!] Oh, but being strong doesn't matter. It helps, yes, but it's how and where you land the blows that make all the difference. Do you have any time slot preferences? I could arrange it for before the trial today, if you'd like?

[he can't help his wilting tendencies]

I'm not going to fret over it, but it's certainly not how I wanted things to go. [whine whine...] I can only hope Mayu believed what I told her so she'll be taken off guard and given a poor amount of time to sway any other imbeciles onto the wolf side.

[as far as Holden The Punching Bag goes:] I know, but it wouldn't be as satisfying if I couldn't crack a bone or peel his skin from him like an apple. As for time, before the trial is much better, yes.
