graveyard part 3
![]() You wake up in an unfamiliar cabin. At first, it almost seems like you're in an entirely different place and that everything had been just a dream. The interior of the cabin looks nothing like the run-down, old-timey shacks that you had been living in before. Everything in here is sleek and modern, from the enormous flat-screen TV mounted on the wall to the fridge and mini-bars stocked with all your favorite foods. There aren't any individual rooms in here, just a common area large enough to house everyone comfortably, no matter how many more people join you...and there will be plenty more people joining you before the week is over. Because if you look outside the window, it quickly becomes clear that not only are you still in Prayer's Pass, but that you are no longer among the realm of the living. Judging from the tombstones directly outside, you're now in what had been the abandoned broken-down cabin in the graveyard. The cabin's not all that changed; the world outside has gone completely grey and everything you see appears to be faded and blurry. The only things that remain sharp and in color are what's inside the cabin, including your fellow ghosts. Occasionally, people who are still alive may enter, but it's clear that what they're seeing is completely different from what you're seeing. The door's unlocked; however, a mysterious force prevents you from stepping beyond the threshold, no matter how hard you may try. After all, this cabin is a cage for the dead - a gilded one, perhaps, but a cage nonetheless. On the flat-screen TV plays everything that is currently happening in the town. It will shut off once night starts...and something else will appear instead. |

It's okay, I won't hold it against you, but I will say I'm very upset for that reason. I knew Holden should've been shot first. [...THAT IS--]
But if things keep going like this, he'll really be still furious once he gets here. People's perception of life and its worth is really swinging completely out of hands. [Frowny glance towards the TV... Trial's still going, after all.]

( And he dusts himself off and looks around, )
You mentioned work?

Churros. ( Obviously. ) And hot chocolate.
( Let's get going, Ciel, he wants to make sure Charles is set for life when he shows up. )
no subject
because wow that should be noted]
He is fond of chocolate. Anything to go with the churros, like a sauce, topping, or dipping in particular?
[yes let us discuss ~business~ as we work, HUFF HUFF. he will legit wake up to the grave with cakes stacked up to the ceiling...]
no subject
Just a wink at that question, )
You'll see.
( Because when Spain says hot chocolate, he means liquid chocolate as a drink. And now! As they head to the kitchen, he'll start talking business, )
I apologize for Lithuania.

HE'S GOING TO HAVE ALL HIS TEETH FALL OUT WITH HOW MUCH SUGAR
HIS PSEUDO PARENTSTHEY WILL SHOVE DOWN HIS THROAT]I look forward to it.
[prim and proper smile!]
You should apologize to Hanekoma and Joshua, the latter is especially livid. We already doubted your collective sanity after the trial with England [nations...], but this does take it to a new level. Would it be too much to ask, exactly what he might've been possibly thinking?
no subject
( Just, a heavy sigh because honestly where does he even begin, )
We didn't think winning would be a good idea anymore. ( Implicating himself along with Lithuania because, hey, it's only a matter of time now, ) We weren't sure why but he knew everyone needed more time.
So he bought everyone time.
( He closes his eyes, )
I confess, I wasn't going to play for much longer either. ( He was going to wait until after Charles passed and take care of things in the morning. He would have rather let Charles die knowing things were still going according to plan but now that he's dead himself, he knows it wouldn't have mattered. ) But it looks like I didn't have a choice in the end.
( Lesson: Never trust a Nation. )

Charles would be cross with you. I admit the only reason why I've been motivated to start killing is because of Joshua's death and Charles' poisoning. He operates on a similar logic: he'll die alone tonight. That's setting the forest on fire, he wouldn't care about anything else other than take down the wolves who's killed us with him. Personal motivations are powerful things, you know. I told you, right? We don't care about dying, neither of us do. It's the circumstances surrounding it that will dictate our reactions.
[Lesson: Never ruffle with the trio.]

( He can only really laugh it off and move on though. He is, however, genuinely sorry. )
This is a war.( He says it lightly and casually, as if he's talking about the weather. ) Everyone is on the wrong side and fighting for what they think is right.
I know we did the wrong thing but I don't think we were completely wrong either.
When Lithuania arrives, he can explain it better than me.
1/2
This is a war where everyone fights for what they believe in, what's important to them. I don't think anyone's qualified to label 'right' or 'wrong' the actions of our peers.
[yes, including murder. A+ Catholicism right here.]
As long as you can accept the blood and the resentment now on your hands.

Do you really think he'll come?
no subject
Ah, you sound almost like France, Miss Ciel. ( When he's sober and in one of his confusing, philosophical moods. However, Spain understands this. ) Don't worry, I made my peace long before coming here.
( He looks around. Lithuania should have been here by now, shouldn't he? )
He's probably running a little late. He'll show up soon, you'll see.
no subject
She chuckles quietly.]
I was born in France, come to think of it.
[this
explains nothing, ok]
Mm, I'm glad to hear that.
...
You didn't hear Critter with the others, did you?
no subject
Just now? Not everything, I'm afraid. ( In his anger, a lot of things failed to reach him. ) I remember speaking with it for a while.
( But he can't really remember everything right now, oops. Let it all catch up with him along with the rest of us human persona. )
no subject
[she only met france as a babby in mayfield. ARE THEY THAT ALIKE...
SO MUCH FOR HER ASIAN HERITAGE]
He should have arrived with Hanekoma, Kirigiri-san was coming to when I woke up here also. ...Ah, Poland would know more about it, I think. Maybe it's just a bump in the system?
[She smiles, pushing down the belief that Lithuania isn't likely to show up at all.]
no subject
( Please, Poland might have the Phoenix nickname but Lithaunia is the same way. All of those Eastern Europeans are; if he's going to remember anything at all, he'll have to remember their resilience. )
Did Critter say something else after I left?
( He's looking at the screen now. Was Critter still talking to everyone? He can only imagine it being something twisted like "oh what a fun trial" again. )
no subject
[yeah she'll. opt to stay quiet on that one. while getting stuff lined up on the sink/table because cakes must be seen to!!1!]
no subject
( ...
And then suddenly he'll let out a loud, frustrated groan, and throw himself into searching for all of the ingredients they'll need. )
It doesn't matter anymore. The game is over for us.
( Little does Spain know. )
no subject
[there's a flatness in her tone.]
I don't think it is. Remember the mementos? The dead were trying to give us clues. Miki Saya's lost an arm, Ada Vessalius' lost an eye. At this point, I don't think it matters who wins: it's the aftermath that everyone has to be concerned of.
no subject
So they really were clues for something else...
no subject
...
People need to keep in mind that wolves victory won't mean the solving of this 'true' mystery, Bruce Wayne at least has told me he was unaware of this facet of the game when he was among the living. There's too many unknown factors either way, I suppose you could ask a fellow nation wolf if you're so inclined.
[A beat.]
By the way, England is blind.
no subject
( Looking at the screen. Charles, Beat, and Sayaka are still alive so they would still know everything from their meetings. The plan could go on still... )
I suppose I can play for a little longer. Sí, I'll ask--
( Dead silence. )
Come again?
no subject
[didn't drop a bomb on you or anything, did she.]
He's traded away his sight. When Lithuania shot Hanekoma on-screen, he was frantically asking what happened.
