night eight; hunters

Once again, as everyone remains locked inside with a raging blizzard outside, you awake at 11 PM precisely to find the door from your cabin open.
Outside, despite the sounds of a blizzard and the whiteout blocking the views from your window, the world is still and calm. The ground and trees are blanketed in thick snow, but no snow is falling and the wind is no longer blowing.
You're all familiar now with what awaits you in the clearing behind the woods, near the caves at the base of the mountain. Still, even if you thought to resist, you are unable to disobey the call that brings you to where your fellow hunters gather.
Several of the trees nearby have long pieces of parchment nailed to them. In case you'd somehow forgotten, the rules you are bound by are nailed there:
You are a hunter. Your role is to devour prey.
→ In this game, there are hunters, prey, and scavengers. Everyone here is a hunter, and everyone else is either prey or scavenger.
→ Every night, the hunters will meet and pick someone to kill. Then, a few lucky hunters will get to kill the prey themselves!
→ The next day, everyone will get together. The prey will try to find out who the hunters are!
→ At the end of the day, there will be a trial, and one player will be chosen. Whoever is chosen will be executed!
→ The hunters will win if they outnumber the other players or kill all of the prey!
→ Be careful and be smart! Don't let the prey know who you are, and try to make other prey look suspicious! Remember that some prey is dangerous to you. They might have special abilities that will help them find out who you are!
→ Always keep in mind the scavengers, too. Some of them may just be hunting YOU!
As a hunter, you have particular incentives.
→ In this game, the only ones guaranteed to live are those still standing at the end.
→ If the prey win, all of the hunters will be killed.
→ If the hunters win, the survivors can make a request. If you request all the dead to return to life, all players will leave this place unharmed.
→ The only way to guarantee everyone leaves here alive is for the hunters to kill the prey and win the game!
As hunters, you are sworn to secrecy.
→ You may not tell prey or scavengers about your incentives. You may not hint to anyone about your incentives. You may not try to help them figure it out.
→ If you are found out as a hunter, you may tell prey you were bribed or threatened. You cannot tell them about the special rules or that anyone can come back to life.
→ You may not help prey or scavengers. You may not assist them in any way. You may not attempt to throw the game. You may not reveal your fellow hunters.
→ If a hunter helps the prey or reveals the hunters' incentives, that prey will be killed. There will also be consequences for the hunters.
→ If the betrayal was intentional and serious, at the end of the game, none of the dead will be revived.
→ Otherwise, if there was a betrayal, at the end of the game the dead prey will be revived, but the dead hunters will remain dead.
As a hunter, you had a choice to play.
→ All of you agreed to be here.
→ All of you are bound by these rules.
→ All of you betray your own lives and the lives of the other players if you break them.
OOC: Please read this explanation of how night posts will work.

I miss Ukyo and England already...in their honor, tonight's kill will be disembowling.

[SEE HOLDEN INCREASINGLY TRAUMATIZED AND GETTING WORSE AT HIDING IT...]
The Watcher's our biggest threat right now since we're clearly not about to do any more loony fake claims. Anyone have any idea who he could be?

[ Everything is traumatizing now. Everything. ]
Considering that Ms. Skye was asking Critter about the watcher, I'm inclined to think they could be one of the people who claimed to her during that one trial... Of course, it's possible they could have met her privately after, but that was my first thought.

1) Our priority needs to be on finding the watcher. Without them, the prey will be forced to vote blindly or based on conjecture that we may be able to manipulate or control. Before Ema died, she revealed that the watcher investigated three people: the Doctor, Lithuania, and Ciel. Ciel is an obvious choice to investigate, but the Doctor and Lithuania are not, especially as neither of them were acting particularly suspiciously or stood out much during the trials. The person most likely to watch the Doctor early on is Clara Oswald; the person most likely to watch Lithuania is Ukraine. Spain is also a possibility when it comes to Lithuania, but I believe I would have been the first person he investigated, and he never gave any sign of knowing I wasn't a normal prey until yesterday. Ukraine is the bigger threat, as she may watch Prussia soon in order to try and clear the remaining nations. Prussia and I have also discussed killing a nation soon after I die in order to set up the illusion that I was the only one keeping the hunters off of them and there are no more countries among our numbers, so take that as you will.
2) Always keep in mind the number of hunters and prey remaining. We currently have two guns in our possession and will hopefully acquire more. Should the prey ever outnumber us by the number of guns we have, shoot them all in the morning.
3) PREY THAT VOTE REGULARLY: America, Beat (possible that Holden can control his votes), Charles Fei-Ong, Ciel, Gundam Tanaka, Joshua Kiryu, Lithuania, Rikku, Spain, Touko Fukawa (possible that Togami can control her votes), Ukraine
PREY THAT TEND TO ABSTAIN: Aoi Asahina, Bucky Barnes, Clara Oswald, the Doctor, Madoka Kaname, Mondo Oowada, Peggy Carter, Sanae Hanekoma, Sayaka Maizono, Steve Rogers
If there's no clear threat or target for the night, always kill someone from the first list. The less willing the town is to vote for people who aren't clearly guilty, the better.
4) Don't risk a night trying to kill America. Once I'm gone, the chances of him protecting only himself are extremely high, as his priority will be to get out of here alive and back to his people, not to mention he'll undoubtedly be furious at the town for a while for executing me. We can't afford a night with no prey deaths.
5) Elliot Nightray's role is still a mystery. Try to find out what it is and who holds it.
6) The longer Kirigiri stays alive, the more likely it will be that the town will start to suspect that at least one of the Hope's Peak students is a hunter and protecting her. In that case, see if you can push them towards Mondo or Aoi, but don't make yourselves look suspicious doing so.
7) Sharon and Kirigiri are our biggest assets as both a power role and the two people who will be least likely suspected by the town. Keep them alive.
Good luck. Remember the stakes we're playing for. Do whatever it takes to win.

So we go after Ukraine and throw suspicion off Prussia. If that isn't the watcher, we get Clara tomorrow. I'll be able to manipulate the Doctor, I think, if we have to take down Clara first.

But it won't be easy for them after that so... just a little more...
Today was... difficult. So I want you to just... cheer you guys on while I still can. ( being a wolf sucks but here she is preparing to give her all cheering the rest of you on ) It's not going to be easy, but they won't find picking out the rest of you to be so easy.
I think after I'm gone and their last easy execution is established, you all should stir things up.
( the way she smiles says she has one last idea to throw out there. she's trying hard still, for someone who considers herself a dead girl walking )
The last few days have been chaotic... but clear-cut. But what happens if we try to invoke chaos without a clear-cut answer? People are already being effected by everything that's happened - give them something to really worry about and they might just scatter a bit in uncertainty. What would really help us the most is if they started to turn on each other.
What do you think a number of weird, seemingly unrelated acts would do to a group of people already poorly held together?
( .....no she hasn't been affected by the craziness of it all either. still. all she can think about is what might help her allies in the future when things get tougher and she won't be there to...
........be not all that helpful anyway. huh. )

They don't have hard evidence on you like they did the last three losses we had. Even if the Watcher has caught you, that would match up with the whole Bloodhound idea Ciel's pushing.
So what if we go through with that whole fake poisoning idea of yours first? You're the last easy loss. You've accepted that, I'm not sure whether it's weird or endearing but you have. With America feeling like shit about his role - whether or not he survives tonight, there's no reason not to do that plot tomorrow unless you just don't feel like it. Best case you get lynched a day later than you were expecting, or maybe people even just forget about how you were lying again. Worst case... well, we're already in the worst case for you, aren't we?

And neither will Miss Kirigiri. To continue to play her part she has to continue to push for my execution. And we can't risk making her look like she's acting out of character. ( because like people viewed Luke's importance to be greater than Fukawa's... Ada's is beneath that of Kyouko's and she knows that )
But... maybe... I don't know. Maybe there's something I can do.
( at least she intends to try to induce some chaos before she goes, if only to help her allies. it's not so much for her own sake that she's considering it at all )

So say you left weird notes with riddles that were like clues in various places all over town - places they would be likely to be found? Of course, in our case we would want them to point away from us - give them something to analyze that might actually make it more difficult for them.
( she smiles )
But if I think I can get away with it, I'd like to do something big.
Critter said he'd let us out a little early to search for notes - perhaps he would let me.........
( eheheheh... yeah oh god you really don't want to ask or know )

If you guys can manage to kill the Watcher too... I wonder if you couldn't fabricate a note of the last person investigated to give one of you an alibi as well... If someone like Miss Kirigiri claimed to have found such a thing, I can think of few who would doubt it's legitimacy.

What else, what else?

And has anyone noticed anything odd about Clara? Does she seem to chat with more people than most of the prey? [ I.e., does it seem like Clara is getting to know them in order ti identify them later? ]

So, we're framing Gundam and setting up Ciel. Which means people Ciel would protect, like Joshua, are probably off limits.
And if we want to take suspicion from Prussia, it might be time to target other countries. Not America. Spain, though?
We could target someone else. Beat.
[ She hesitates. ]
And Holden. I don't want you at any more kills if we can help it. Understood?
no subject
Got it. I know I've been - been - been - I should take it easy for a while. If Ada's eliminated then out of the hunters we've got left... one people are gonna suspect most is probably me. And I just - don't wanna kill anyone either except maybe that asshole who didn't care about her even though she was PREY for Christ's sake but PEOPLEWOULDKNOWITWASME!
[Wow, that tree he just slammed his fist into is not ever going to be the same again, is it?
He holds his own hand and winces at it.]
......Understood, Ms. Carter.

I'm sorry, Holden. If I'd known she was important to you, I wouldn't have poisoned her. I'd have chosen someone else. Anyone else.
But you're right. You should take it easy. If we want to bring Akane back, we have to win the game. It... might be best if you didn't know what we talk about here. Tell Critter to vote randomly on your behalf. That way, you won't know. You won't have that weight to bear.
[ And he can stop fucking up by telling people what the fuck he knows. ]

[He groans deeply.] I thought back then we were gonna win for sure, you know?

And if you get caught, look to Gundam or Ciel as if trying to get a clue as to what to do.

sharon carter; viper
→ Each night, you will be able to choose any player.
→ That player will be poisoned. The next day, they will fall ill, and will learn that they will die without medical attention.
→ If a protective role attends to the prey, they will be safe. Otherwise, they will die the next day.
→ You will be able to attempt to poison someone only three times during the game.
One poisoning remains.
