Bingo! No one's actually managed to win the real game yet, but maybe this group will be different with your help. Maybe.

Her mind darts to the suggestions Critter made for a sacrifice and... Her tangible objects are basically negligible - she bought a few books that aren't with her now; the possession Kanaya misses most right now is her Prayer's Pass issued diary for crying out loud. And though she has her physical body, still, somehow it's possible she'll get even luckier in the future. She can't reduce her own usefulness. But her own happiness, that's surely something she can sacrifice.]

Just how valuable a memory does a sacrifice have to be?

Hee hee, how much do you think the lives of everyone still left in the town are worth? As valuable as that.

[Her mind can race faster than her tongue for at least a little while. The past four days have been intense to say the least; she could be bargained up easily, after this stretch of a hundred hours where nothing but Prayer's Pass has mattered. On the other hand, when she thinks about the end of this game, getting out of this hellhole, going back to the meteor, where the human race is still borderline extinct and she didn't receive any actual information on saving the world here... she could be bargained down.

Who would care? And when that question comes to her, what she has to give up is instantly obvious.]

What about every single memory I have of Rose Lalonde? From the rumors I've heard you probably know that she's the only person left to whom I matter at all.

Okay. Right now my intention is to lose all memories of my best friend to unlock the church. Does anyone else have any contrary ideas? I'll gladly wait my turn if so.

Well... James opened the jail last night. Supposedly there's a clue in there for people to find.

[Not that Poland's volunteering anything yet.]

Hmmmm. That's true... but... it's presumably one thing out of all these surprise noodles, and we don't know which one.

If some of the clues contain other clues, then maybe we should try to unlock all the buildings first. That way we can guarantee that when the other clues are unlocked, they won't go to waste.

I'd give up my axe, but it isn't here. All I have is Usano. [she nods at the stuffed rabbit she's been carrying]

I think... I think that might be a factor, more than species - we've established the nonliteral nature of that. Love is what makes the sentimental item seem as important to lose as a sense or emotion.

What do you think would be the best thing to unlock?

Probably Supply Shop, yes? May contain things, even if not clues. More use now than later.

Oh. A very good point! Especially if it replenishes like the other stores do, sooner rather than later would be best.

And in that case I think I might still like to be the one responsible for the church myself. There's a poetry to it. That way you could give up something solid for solid supplies, and I something intangible for the ethereal.
