With night's fall, you are once again locked in your cabin for the evening. Outside, a blizzard rages. The howl of the wind blocks out the sound of anything happening outside of your small room, and outside your window you can see only the white of frost covering your window and darkness beyond.

At 11 PM exactly, the candle on your desk lights, filling your cabin with a warm, yellow glow. If you are asleep, the light will wake you. You are drawn to your desk.

There, in the center of the desk, is your journal open to a page that was previously blank.

The following is written on the first page of your journal, visible only at night:

You are the defender. Your role is to aid your fellow prey by giving them weapons.

→ Each night, you can pick one person by circling their name on your list. That person will receive a gun the next morning.
→ You cannot give a gun to yourself or to someone who already has one until they have fired it or passed it on.
→ Each gun will come loaded with one bullet and can only be fired once. Once aimed and fired at a target, the bullet will always hit a vital area and cause a fatality.
→ A person can only own one gun at a time. The owner of a gun may pass it on to someone else; should this happen, you will be able to gun them again but not the new owner.
→ Guns cannot be used against hunters during their night kill. However, they can be used against a scavenger at any point, including at night.
→ Be very careful about who you give a gun to. Your guns will be the only way for anyone to die during the day aside from executions, and may prove to be the tipping point between victory and defeat. Remember, you always have the option to pick no one.
