graveyard part five

hunter's game the graveyard

You wake up in an unfamiliar cabin.

At first, it almost seems like you're in an entirely different place and that everything had been just a dream. The interior of the cabin looks nothing like the run-down, old-timey shacks that you had been living in before. Everything in here is sleek and modern, from the enormous flat-screen TV mounted on the wall to the fridge and mini-bars stocked with all your favorite foods. There aren't any individual rooms in here, just a common area large enough to house everyone comfortably, no matter how many more people join you...and there will be plenty more people joining you before the week is over.

Because if you look outside the window, it quickly becomes clear that not only are you still in Prayer's Pass, but that you are no longer among the realm of the living. Judging from the tombstones directly outside, you're now in what had been the abandoned broken-down cabin in the graveyard. The cabin's not all that changed; the world outside has gone completely grey and everything you see appears to be faded and blurry. The only things that remain sharp and in color are what's inside the cabin, including your fellow ghosts. Occasionally, people who are still alive may enter, but it's clear that what they're seeing is completely different from what you're seeing. The door's unlocked; however, a mysterious force prevents you from stepping beyond the threshold, no matter how hard you may try. After all, this cabin is a cage for the dead - a gilded one, perhaps, but a cage nonetheless.

On the flat-screen TV plays everything that is currently happening in the town. It will shut off once night starts...and something else will appear instead.

Good, you had better. Your effort this time was abysmal. [yes because it is 100% England's fault that he wound up a hunter.]

Those were some of the tamer things I can think of. It wasn't a kind city to anyone, you know? Hong Kong was axed to death and then set on fire by poisonous clouds of gases in hazmat suits once, you know? [shaking his head...] —Ah, I didn't see France around much at all, actually. If you did kill him, I don't recall it.

...You really don't need to get me any more stuffed animals though. I was drowning in a sea of them by the time I was plucked from that town.

I'd like to try scavenger if I can. That seems like something far more up my alley. [hanging out in the background doing shady stuff and only joining a side if it suits him yuuup]

H-hong Kong was? Bloody hell, I'm glad I gave that town a miss...or don't remember it, at any rate. Wish I could forget about this one. [scowls] And of course that fucking frog's off eating cheese and drinking wine while the rest of us get trapped in these low-budget horror shows. I'm going to kick in his teeth extra hard for this.

Nonsense, all children enjoy stuffed animals. Would you prefer a giant stuffed bat instead?

[side-eyeing...] You would be better off sitting on the sidelines so you don't throw your back out, to be perfectly honest.

Anyway, since you're an empty-headed moron, you seem to forget these places more often than not. I'm not exactly certain if that works in your favor or not, but you can at least rest well knowing you likely won't be recalling any of this mess the next time you wake up in a low-budget horror show. Just stick a post-it note in your pocket so you'll remember to kick France extra hard.

[MAKES A FACE] I had one of those as well, you know. Again, I'll insist I'm fine. I'm not even a child. You do know that, don't you?
